What is a community?

A community holds related group chats under one roof. Everyone in it also receives its Announcements, which is where admins send messages meant for the whole community.

Why can't I turn off announcements?

Announcements are what a community is for, so there is no switch that keeps you in a community while silencing them. You can mute them so they never interrupt you, or choose Highlights so only announcements that name you reach your phone. If you want none at all, exit the community — from the community's page, Exit community.

What happens when I exit a community?

You stop receiving its announcements and leave its Announcements room. The groups inside it that you are a member of stay yours; they simply stop being part of that community for you.

Who can see who is in a community?

Community admins. Everyone else sees themselves and the owner, and the count stays private. This is deliberate: a community can be large, and its member list is not public to everyone in it.

Who can add members or groups?

Adding members is admins only. Any member can bring a group they run into the community, and admins can create new ones from the community's page.

Notifications

I get nothing when the app is closed.

Open Zynkrow once after installing or updating, so the phone can register for notifications, and make sure notifications are allowed for Zynkrow in your phone's settings. On Android, force-stopping the app from Settings stops all delivery until you open it again.

Notify for all, Highlights, Mute — what is the difference?

All means every message reaches your phone. Highlights means only the ones that name you. Mute means nothing interrupts you, and you read them when you open the chat.

Calls

The call screen does not appear when my phone is locked.

Zynkrow needs permission to show full-screen notifications. Allow it under Settings, Apps, Zynkrow, and keep battery optimisation off for Zynkrow so the phone can wake for a ring.
